National Guard open house set Oct. 3; displays featured The public is invited to attend a free open house sponsored by the South Dakota Army National Guard on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the National Guard Armory, 603 Princeton St.
Displays and demonstrations of equipment used by the National Guard and information on a wide variety of programs sponsored by the South Dakota Army National Guard will be available.
A Black Hawk helicopter will be on display, for public viewing. In addition, the following will be present: The University of South Dakota ROTC unit; ambulances; "Hummer"; tents with a hospital display; and South Dakota Army National Guard recruiters.
"This is an opportunity for the public to take a firsthand look at the equipment and personnel that comprise the medical unit in Vermillion," said Sgt. Denise D. Tucker, Unit Public Affairs Representative. "It will also be an opportunity for the unit to give thanks to the community for their continued support."
