Dare Report Developing positive attitudes about one's own abilities and achievements is important in buildling self-esteem. Last week students learned that by building our own self-esteem, it builds the self-esteem of others around us.
Giving compliments and doing helpful tasks builds our self-esteem and at the same time builds the self-esteem of others.
This week students learned that assertiveness (standing up for yourself) is a response style that enables a person to state his or her own rights without loss of self-esteem.
Students will be able to respond assertively in refusing others to use drugs or other situations where it would be helpful.
Next week students will learn about stress. They will be able to identify stressors in their lives and learn different techniques to deal with it.
