Students win essay contest The Vermillion VFW Auxiliary #3061 sponsored an essay contest called "Why is it Important to Vote?" for all fifth- and sixth-grade students in Clay County.
Winners were awarded monetary awards. Placings were:
No. 1 – Caley Gerth, daughter of Lisa and Steve Gerth, No. 2 – Molly Green, daughter of Chris Hutton and Vince Green, No. 3 – Kara Rasmussen, daughter of Kay and Rick Rasmussen.
