According to the police department, the Buick, driven by Becky Blades, was heading east on Highway 50 and turned north in front of Cynthia Hayes, who was driving westbound on Highway 50. It appears that Blades may not have seen the Suburban coming because it was hidden from view by a semi truck waiting to turn at the intersection. Blades, who was taken to the Sioux Valley Vermillion Campus by the local ambulance, received a summons for failure to yield. The accident was reported to police at approximately 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
