Area legislative forum planned An area legislative forum, hosted by the Southeast Area Cooperative, is planned for Monday, Nov. 30 at Beresford High School.
A dinner will begin at 6 p.m., with a legislative forum at 6:45 p.m. Legislators from District 16 (Sen. Ken Albers, Rep. Mike Broderick, and Rep. Roland Chicoine); District 17 (Sen. Joe Reedy, Rep.-Elect Judy Clark and Rep.-Elect H. Jr. Engbrecht); and District 18 (Sen.-Elect Garry Moore, Rep.-Elect Matthew Michels and Rep. Donald Munson) have been invited to attend.
Area school board members and administrators from the following school districts will be in attendance: Alcester-Hudson, Beresford, Canton, Centerville, Cornbelt Cooperative, Dakota Valley, Elk Point-Jefferson, Gayville-Volin, Harrisburg, Hurley, Irene, Lennox, Parker, Vermillion, Viborg, Yankton and Wakonda.
The focus of the forum will be on legislative matters, issues/topics relevant to education in the upcoming 1999 legislative session, and local school district input to legislators.
