Swim team sweeps dual South Dakota posted a sweep over Minnesota State, Mankato in a North Central Conference swimming and diving dual held Saturday at the DakotaDome pool.
The Coyote women registered a 155-99 victory, while the USD men came out on top, 161-90. The South Dakota men and women, both 1-0 on the season, travel to South Dakota State Saturday, Nov. 7.
The USD women set two records. Sara Pokela established a school and pool record in winning the 200 backstroke in 2:29.16. Pokela also won the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley.
Robyn Chrissinger set a school record in winning the 200 breaststroke in 2:47.87. Chrissinger also won the 200 butterfly and 800 freestyle. Kristy Healey captured the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
Leading the USD men were Zach Weiss, Justin Devlin, Torey Melton and Fritz Borchardt. Weiss won the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle; Devlin captured the 200 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke; Melton took the 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly; and Borchardt claimed the 200 individual medley and 800 freestyle.
