Vermillion students to perform

Vermillion students to perform Five Vermillion singers will be on stage 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6, when the Yankton Children's Choir presents its first Christmas concert, "In Dulci Jubilo" at the Dakota Theater in downtown Yankton. Special guest will be The Brass Section with Scott Olson.

Performing as part of the combined, select 45-voice Concert Choir are veterans, Zachary Holoch, a VMS seventh-grader; Benjamin Rogge and Sarah Weaver, fifth- graders at Jolley Elementary. Making her first appearance with the choir is sixth-grader, Molly O'Connor. Holoch is the son of Duane and Connie Holoch. Rogge is the son of Michelle Rogge Gannon, Weaver is the daughter of Elizabeth Miller, and O'Connor is the daughter of Mike and Cheryl O'Connor, all of Vermillion.

An additional Vermillion newcomer to the Yankton Children's Choir and as a member of the newly formed Preparatory Choir, is Sage Koch, son of Thomas and Juanita Yellow Wolf. Sage is also a fifth-grader at Jolley Elementary.

Other area students participating in the Yankton Children's Concert Choir include Mindy Holdorf, eighth-grade daughter of Doug and Tena Tyree of Gayville; Stephanie Pokorney, eighth-grade daughter of Renda Bertrand of Gayville; and Erika Hoxeng, sixth-grade daughter of Dale and Jill Hoxeng of Volin; Jill Leader, seventh-grade daughter of Randy Leader, Crofton, NE; Latashia Green, Bon Homme seventh-grader, daughter of Leodis and Cynthia Green, Springfield; Christine Noecker, fifth-grader from Holy Trinity in Hartington, NE, daughter of Dan and Carla Noecker; and Ashley, fifth-grade, and Kelly Sternhagen, fourth-grade, daughters of Steve and Nancy Sternhagen from Scotland.

Members from the surrounding community who round out the Yankton Children's Preparatory Choir include Richard Tyree, son of Doug and Tena Tyree of Gayville; Jared and Michelle Moser, fourth- and sixth-grade children of Ray and Natashia Moser, Hartington, NE; Kristin Neth, Scotland fourth-grade daughter of Robin Neth; Courtney Nelson, fourth-grader from Wakonda, daughter of Jim and Peggy Nelson, and Kaylie Henseler, Crofton, NE, fourth-grade daughter of Kevin and Tweeter Henseler.
