Coyotes roll past Bellevue South Dakota ran its men's basketball record to 4-1 with a 112-62 win over Bellevue played Sunday afternoon in the DakotaDome. The point total for the Coy otes was the sixth-highest in team his to ry. USD will host Minnesota-Morris Fri day and Doane Col lege Monday. Both games are at 7:30 p.m.
The Coyotes, who led 47-23 at halftime, shot 59.7 per cent against Bellevue, while holding the Bruins to 34.4 percent. Five players fin ished in double scoring fig ures led by freshman Eric Hickenbottom with 19 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Nathan Blessen had 16 points and Eric Rawson had 14 points, including four three-point field goals. Jeremy Kudera notched 13 points and five rebounds, fol lowed by Anestis Tsakalaidis with 12 points and seven re bounds. Nate Tibbetts collected six points, six assists and five steals. Kory Petzenhauser chipped in nine points, while Ben Ries and Joey James added eight and seven points, re spec tive ly.
South Dakota posted an 80-53 win over Mount Senario last Monday. The Coyotes held the Saints to 28.3 percent shooting from the field and forced 22 turnovers. The Coyotes, who shot 41.7 percent for the game, were sparked by Jason Barrow with 20 points and four rebounds. Kudera had 15 points and nine rebounds, and Tsakalaidis finished with 10 points. Petzenhauser chipped in with nine points and eight assists. USD led 36-12 at halftime with the Saints going 3-for-31 from the field in the first half.
