DARE REPORT Last week the students were able to meet with high school leaders who do not use drugs. These students serve as "role models" and are looked up to by the younger students. The students learned that not everyone uses drugs. The students also learned that they need to become involved in the school and community. By setting goals it can help them in staying drug free.

This week the students will learn about the negative consequences resulting from gang and group violence. They will learn that there are several consequences of belonging to a group of young people whose members take part in acts of violence. Although some communities may not have neighborhood youth gangs as defined, there are nevertheless small groups or cliques of young people involved in destructive acts. Students will be able to recognize that there are no positive consequences to belonging to this type of group.

Next week in D.A.R.E. the students will review all the material that has been covered since D.A.R.E. started.
