DARE Report During the past week, the students have been busy working on their D.A.R.E. essays. Each student was required to write an essay about "Taking a Stand" against the use of alcohol and drugs. In the essay, the students talk about how they are going to respond when pressured to use drugs.
This week students read their essays out loud to their fellow peers. Each student took their turn and talked about the pressures that they will encounter when asked to use drugs. They also told about how they will respond and what they can do to help them say no.
On Jan. 14 and 15 the St. Agnes and Jolley Schools will have culmination programs. The students will be recognized for their commitment to refuse a drug offer. The program provides a time for school officials, law enforcement, and community to recognize individual achievements and to reinforce the values and skills they have learned. Please take the time to come and join us in this program. As D.A.R.E. for this group of fifth-graders has come to an end, I would like to thank each and every person for their support. It doesn't go unnoticed.
