Vermillion gymnasts travel to Wagner The Vermillion Lady gymnasts traveled to Wagner last weekend to compete in the Wagner Invitational. Eight teams competed for the top spot, with Madison finishing on top. The team scores were Madison 115.2; Stanley County, 106.34; Miller 103.45; Vermillion 97.35; West Central, 95.20; Chamberlain, 94.95; Wagner, 84.25; and Winner 57.45.
The only Tanager gymnast to place in the top five was Anne Dambowy on the uneven parallel bars with a third place finish (7.9).
"We had seven falls on beam this Saturday which cost us 3.5 points. Beam was our first event, and with seven falls it kind of set the tone for the rest of the meet," said Coach Upward. "We had a few routines that were seasonal bests, but for the most part, we let down."
The next action for the Lady Tanagers is Saturday at the Mitchell Invitational. The competition starts at 12 noon on Saturday. The rest of the meet results were:
