Chamber banquet planned for Feb. 8 The Vermillion Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding its 92nd annual banquet Feb. 8 at the Eagles Club. This year's guest speaker will be John Waltner. Waltner is a banker from Freeman, and has served as president of Freeman's Community Development Corp., secretary-treasurer of the local Chamber of Commerce, city treasurer, and president of the public school board.
Waltner has many interests, among them, playing lead roles in musicals at Lewis & Clark Playhouse. Waltner holds an MBA from The University of South Dakota. He travels the country as a motivational speaker and involves the audiences in his speeches.
Social hour begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Dinner is being catered by the Silver Dollar. Reservations for the Chamber's Annual Banquet can be made by calling the Chamber at 624-5571. Cost is $15 per person for the evening.
