VHS stops Bon Homme Saturday night's boys basketball game against Bon Homme came better late than never for Vermillion, as the Tanagers topped the Cavaliers 93-56. The Jan. 9 game got a late start and was not completed until 11 p.m. because the Southeast Area Volleyball Winter Classic tournament Vermillion High School hosted ran later than expected. Doug Hanson led Vermillion with 21 points and 5 steals. Beau Blouin netted 15 points. Derrick Brown added 10 points for the Tanagers. Vermillion won both prelims, taking the JV game 65-19 and the freshman game 39-36. Above, Vermillion's Doug Hanson (34) goes airborne while attempting a shot to avoid going over the back of Bon Homme's Doug Townsend (10). Other Tanagers pictured are Beau Blouin (30) and Nick Hovden, at right.
