Eighth-graders drop two to Yankton The Vermillion eighth-grade boys basketball team lost both the A and B games to the, Yankton Bucks on Thursday, Feb. 11 at the VHS gym. In the A game, Yankton led by six at the half 17-11 and the Tanagers got within two near the close of the 3rd quarter, but the Bucks scored a couple of quick baskets before the buzzer to lead by seven, 26-19 going into the final period. Vermillion once again closed the gap but Yankton pulled away at the end for a final score of 42-30.
It took overtime before the Bucks won the B game 37-31.
