Frosh Tanagers lose to Le Mars The VHS freshmen Tanagers were beaten by the Le Mars Central Bulldogs 74-36 in boys basketball Feb. 4 at Le Mars, IA.
"Having only three athletes on the bench due to injury and illness, we were out-matched by a much deeper Bulldog basketball team," said Vermillion Coach Devin Schwiesow. "We were forced into foul trouble early which really had a negative effect on our game plan."
The Tanagers fell behind 14-10 at the end of the first period, trailed 32-16 at halftime, and then trailed 60-21 going into the final period.
Vermillion saw its record fall to 5-6, while Le Mars upped its mark to 14-2.
