School taxation measure reborn

School taxation measure reborn by Andrea Skalland Voters will get a chance to vote again on the issue of classifying certain property for the purposes of school taxation.

Rep. Kenneth McNenny, R-Sturgis, introduced HJR 1005 Feb. 8, suggesting that it was an issue of fairness and it should be put back on the ballot.

The issue is to classify properties within school districts into separate classes for the purpose of school taxation.

The resolution passed with a vote of 60-7.
