Volleyball players coming to university next year University of South Dakota head volleyball coach Kaaryn Hermsen has announced that four high school seniors have signed national letters of intent to enroll at USD and compete for the Coyote volleyball program.
Joining the USD volleyball team are: Amber Abrams, Rapid City, Heather Moore Summerfield, KS, Jennifer Hedegaard, Underwood, IA, Leslie Fusinato, Spring Valley, IL, and Sarah Vollertsen, Palmyra, NE.
Abrams, a 5' 11" outside hitter, who first signed with the Coyote track team, starred for Rapid City Central High School.
Moore, a 6' 1" outside-middle hitter for Axtell High School, averaging 4.9 kills per game.
Hedegaard, a 5' 9" outside hitter, compiled 261 killsand 296 digs for a squad that captured conference, district and regional championships this year.
Fusinato, a 5' 8" outside hitter, was a first-team unanimous all-North Central Illinois Conference selection and a first-team academic all-conference pick for Hall High School. Vollertsen, a 6' 2 1/2" outside-middle hitter, was a first-team all-conference volleyball and basketball player as a junior and senior at Palmyra High School.
