Boxers travel to Nebraska to compete The Vermillion Boxing Team travelled to Pierce, NE, on March 13.
The first VBT fighter to compete was 8 year-old, 60 lb. Kelly "TJ." Bad Hand who lost a 3-round decision to Pierce's, Nevada Claussen. It was Bad Hand's first match.
The second to compete was 11-year-old, 115 lb. Thomas Barnes. Barnes was competing in his third bout of the season and won by RSC (referee stops contest) in the second round over Crofton's Sean Zimmerman.
The third competitor for VBT was 11-year-old, 130 lb. Kris LeRoy. He was also competing in his third bout and was equally successful with a first round RSC win over Genoa's, Jason Crumbly.
Rusty Thompson attended the bout but was unable to compete.
The VBT will travel to Sisseton this Saturday, March 20. They will also host their second bout of the year on Saturday, March 27. As always we would like to thank our sponsors for supporting the youth of our community.
