Nominations for eminent farmer, homemaker sought South Dakota State University has issued a call for nominations for 1999 South Dakota Eminent Farmer and Homemaker. Nominations are due April 1.
In a program dating to 1927, SDSU each year honors two eminent farmers and two eminent homemakers for contributions to their community, state and nation.
Following a two-day recognition program at SDSU with their family and friends, their portraits go on display in the Hall of Fame Gallery, located in SDSU's Agricultural Hall.
Anyone can nominate a farmer or homemaker confidentially. To be considered, the nominee should have (1) given unselfishly of their talent, time and leadership to public programs, educational institutions and church; (2) promoted family, community, state and nation; and (3) have connections to SDSU. This program recognizes nominees while they are living.
