Students meet with regents, discuss federation The South Dakota Student Federation met in conjunction with the Board of Regents meeting March 18 in the basement of the Trojan Center on the campus of Dakota State University.
All six state universities were present as they discussed the process of The University of South Dakota and South Dakota State University re-joining the Student Federation after leaving in October 1998. Final details will be discussed at the May meeting in Brookings.
Also taking place was the election of the new Student Federation executive director, Kevin Maxwell, a junior economics and political science major from Rapid City. He attends SDSU and was elected to the executive director position. The executive director is the liaison for the 26,000 state university students to the Board of Regents and the state Legislature.
Maxwell takes over for Lance Russell who attends USD.
