USD Nursing granted continued accreditation The University of South Dakota department of nursing has been granted continuing accreditation through 2006 by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). Eight years is the maximum accreditation period granted by the NLNAC.
The standards evaluated in the accreditation process were mission/governance, faculty, students, curriculum/instruction, resources, educational effectiveness and integrity.
The department of nursing was commended on exemplary practices in regard to distance learning through the use of the Rural Development of Telecommunications Network (RDTN), the wide spectrum of learning sites and cultural diversity.
