USD women conclude season

USD women conclude season South Dakota concluded the 1998-99 season with games at South Dakota State and Augustana Feb. 26-27.

The Coyotes fell to the Jackrabbits, 76-51, and Augustana defeated USD, 70-53.

The Coyotes shot 42.0 percent against South Dakota State and USD was outrebounded, 35-27.

USD, which trailed 36-28, at halftime, was led by Kelly Gese with 17 points and Katrina Merrill had 10 points. Maegan Prickett finished with 6 points with 5 apiece for Alisa Koronkiewicz and Bethany Koehler. Amy Heismeyer was tops in rebounds with 6.

South Dakota State shot 49.1 percent.

South Dakota fell behind Augustana, 35-23, at halftime before coming back in the second half. The Coyotes had two players in double scoring figures paced by Gese with 15 points and Lisa Daniels with 11. Koehler had 5 points with 4 apiece for Heismeyer and Merrill.

USD shot 33.9 percent for the game compared to 43.8 for Augustana. Each team recorded 39 rebounds.
