Vermillion native on air in Los Angeles

Vermillion native on air in Los Angeles Dan Kieley, a KIIS-FM radio program director, announced the appointment of Michael Steele to the assistant program director music director post at the heritage Los Angeles Jacor Station. Steele has spent the last two-and-one half years at STAR (KFMB), Jacor San Diego, where he held the APD/MD titles.

The Vermillion native started his radio career at KVRF in his home town as board op and weekend on-air talent while attending The University of South Dakota.

Along the way to 102.7 KIIS-FM, Michael also stopped at KGGG, Rapid City, KQKQ Omaha, WEDJ, Charlotte, KDGE, Omaha and KGGI, Riverside. He also picked up five National Music Director of the Year awards.

Michael Steele is the professional name for Michael Christopherson, the son of Dan and Gloria Christopherson of Vermillion.
