Benefit Auction '99 to be held at the Eagle's The board of directors of SESDAC, Inc. announces that the eighth annual fund-raiser, Benefit Auction '99, will be held Saturday, April 17, at the Eagle's Club in Vermillion.
Activities will include a silent auction and social hour starting at 6 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner catered by Joan Nelson. Special music will be provided by Chris Johnson and Paula Meloy during the silent auction and dinner. The evening will conclude with a live auction conducted by Hazen Bye, auctioneer from Vermillion.
Byron and Carol Bymers will host the evening's events. Donations are being collected from local, national and international contributors.
"Due to the generosity of local residents over the past eight years, thousands of dollars have been raised," said Errin Willroth, president of SESDAC, Inc.'s board of directors. "Our funding as a non-profit organization does not finance everything that is needed. The income from this fund-raiser has made a significant difference in filling in some of the gaps."
SESDAC, Inc. assists more that 58 adults with developmental disabilities to live, work and socialize in southeast South Dakota. The agency owns and operates three group homes and one supervised apartment building in Vermillion while assisting other consumers who reside in their own apartments and homes.
The agency also provides supported employment, family support and transportation services to people with disabilities in the Vermillion and surrounding area.
