Coyote softball team 2-3 at Minnesota Tournament South Dakota had a 2-3 record in the Minnesota State Tournament April 18 and 19 in Mankato, MN.
The Coyotes are 24-18 overall and 11-13 in the NCC.
In the Minnesota State Tournament, the Coyotes fell to North Dakota State (4-0), North Dakota (1-0) and St. Cloud State (3-2), before posting wins over Minnesota State (5-4) and South Dakota State (5-0).
In the win over Minnesota State, Kris Breuer was the winning pitcher after relieving Andrea Bigalk in the sixth inning. Kristi Anderson led USD's 12-hit attack going 4-for-4. Jessica Bills and Bigalk each had 2 hits, while Michelle Carpenter had a run-scoring double.
In the loss to North Dakota, Anderson took the loss despite throwing a no-hitter. UND scored the winning run in the top of the 10th on an error. USD had 3 hits.
