Fun run/walk proceeds will benefit Gottsleben The second annual Coyote Classic 10k/5k Run and Fun Walk will be held April 18 beginning at 2 p.m. in Vermillion.
The event, which begins and ends at Old Main on the USD campus, will also include a one-mile "Kids Walk." Participants are encouraged to obtain pledges, and proceeds from the event will assist Kendra Gottsleben, 14, of Vermillion, who will undergo corrective spinal surgery this summer.
Certificates will be awarded for the actual run/walk winners. All registrants will receive a t-shirt on race day and additional t-shirts may be purchased at the race. Refreshments will be provided after the event.
Registration will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at Old Main. Registration fees for the 10k run are $15 before April 10 and $20 after. Registration for the 5k run/fun walk and kids walk are $10 per person, with a $40 maximum for families.
