Girls and Boys State orientations to be held Girls and Boys State orientations will be held on Sunday, May 2, with registration starting at 1:30 p.m. and the sessions to begin at 2 p.m.
All Girls Staters, alternates and parents and all Boy Staters, alternates and parents are encouraged to attend.
They will learn what is expected of them when they attend Girls and Boys State such as clothing, bedding, discipline, transportation, etc. as they attend Girls and Boys State May 31 through June 5.
Girls and boys from Charles Mix, Douglas and Hutchinson counties will attend at Armour. It will be hosted by the American Legion and Auxiliary at the Senior Citizens Center located on Main Street. Former Boys Staters will be on the panel.
Girls and boys from Yankton, Clay and Bon Homme counties will attend the session at Menno. It will be hosted by the American Legion and Auxiliary at the American Legion in Menno. Conducting the session will be Darrell Salter of Parker, director of Boys State.
Girls and Boys Staters are encouraged to make every effort to attend these sessions on May 2, at 1:30 p.m.
