Legion will meet at Wagner Legionnaires from Bon Homme, Charles Mix, Clay, Douglas, Hutchinson and Yankton counties will gather Tuesday, April 20, at Wagner for the annual District 7 Spring Convention of the South Dakota American Legion.
The Legion business session will start at 8 p.m. in the National Guard Armory.
The session will be preceded by a social hour at 6:30 p.m. and a banquet at 7, both in the Armory.
Participants will elect district officers for two-year terms during the business meeting. County commanders and vice commanders in the district will be elected for one-year terms.
The session also will feature post reports regarding the past year's unusual activities, post Americanism reports, a membership turn-in, recognition of the District Legionnaire of the Year and an address by State American Legion Commander Donald R. Young of Herrick.
The Legion business session will be conducted by outgoing District 7 Commander Vernon Sipp of Wagner. Wagner Post Commander Norman Nedved will be in charge of local arrangements.
The District 7 Auxiliary will hold its convention meeting at 8 p.m. the same day in the Wagner American Legion Post Home.
