The Coyotes fell to Nebraska-Omaha in the first game, 1-0, before posting a 4-2 win over Augustana. USD was held to 4 hits in the first game led by Michelle Carpenter, who had 3 hits. Kristi Anderson was USD's losing pitcher. In the Augustana win, the Coyotes broke a 1-1 tie with a three-run second inning. Maggie Gorman capped off the Coyote rally with a double. USD had 8 hits in the game paced by Heather Casey, who went 2-for-3. Kris Breuer was the winning pitcher and improved her record to 11-4.
Last Tuesday Nebraska-Omaha posted a doubleheader sweep over South Dakota by the scores of 5-2 and 10-1.
In the first game, the Coyotes held a 2-0 lead after four innings. In the bottom of the fourth, USD's Tiffany Davis hit a two-run home run with Karla Miller on base with a single. However, Nebraska-Omaha responded with 5 runs on 2 hits and 1 USD error in the top of the fifth. USD finished with 5 hits led by Miller with 2 singles. Losing pitcher Breuer went the distance with 4 walks, 9 strikeouts and 6 hits allowed. South Dakota outhit UNO in the second game, 11-6. Miller led USD going 3-for-3.
