USD track team performs well South Dakota turned in a number of strong performances at the Concordia Track and Field Invitational held March 26-27 in Seward, NE. The Coyotes will compete in the Jim Duncan Invitational April 9 in Des Moines, IA.
On the women's side, the Coyotes were paced by Brandy Echternach who met the national provisional qualifying standard in three events. She won the discus (155-11) and the hammer (156-10), while placing second in the shot put (44-1).
Mandi Mueller was second in the hammer (151-1) and third in the discus (131-2).
In other results for the Coyote women: Jennifer Hasvold, high jump, third (5-3); Tori Devericks, 200, third (26.27); Devericks, 100 hurdles, third (14.91); Sandy Pelkofer, pole vault, fifth (9-10); and Michelle Mellegaard, long jump, seventh (16-9).
The USD men had two second-place efforts with Derek Dunlop in the javelin (181-1) and Ryan Finley in the 400 (50.56).
