Girls golf team suffers loss by Jim Prosser The Vermillion High School girls golf team faced tough weather conditions and a tough Lennox team May 10.

Weather forecasters predicted another wet day May 10 with scattered showers. However, by 4 p.m. the sun was out and the temperature was in the high 60s.

Unfortunately, the wind was high also, gusting up to 30 mph. Add to this the absence of two varsity members due to illness and you have the ingredients for minor disaster. (Lennox 200, Vermillion 218).

Medalist with a 46 score was Tif Rothenberger (L).

Tanager scores were: Lynn Lewison 51; Karrie Plate 53; Tabitha Hubert 55; Allison Stewart 59; Terri Upward 59.

The junior varsity also fell to the Orioles, 229-243. VHS scores were: Brooke Nelson 53; Megan Dever 62; Jenny Merrigan 63; Stacy Wheelock 65; Kayla Widner 69.
