Prairie Rep Theatre announces season Prairie Repertory Theatre offers patrons 39 performances of four productions, including two musicals, a comedy and a children's play.
My Fair Lady, Nunsense II, Brighton Beach Memoirs and Peter Pan are the featured attractions for the 1999 season.
Thirty-three students, 10 staff members, and 10 musicians will comprise this year's Prairie Repertory Company. "This year's company also includes guest actor Tom Becker," according to James L. Johnson, professor of communication studies and theatre and administrative head for Prairie Repertory Theatre. Becker completed his Master of Fine Arts degree in acting at the University of South Carolina. He toured with the California Shakespeare Repertory Theatre for several years before starting his teaching career in Omaha, NE. Becker will play the roles of Jack in Brighton Beach Memoirs and Alfred P. Doolittle in My Fair Lady.
"Our visiting artist program has been quite successful since we started it in 1997," Johnson said, "and the theatre staff wanted to continue it again this year." Becker will also provide acting workshops for members of the theatre company.
