Track athletes battle cold, wind at VHS Booster Club Earlybird by Jim Prosser Generally in the spring, when the date of a track meet is posted, it is followed by the notice �postponed due to weather!�

That�s what happened with the VHS Booster Club �Earlybird� scheduled for April 10. It was rescheduled for April 27 with a reduced size field of teams able the participate. Five schools competed in both girls and boys divisions on a cold, windy, threatening afternoon. Final team standings for the boys were: First, Lennox � 92, second, Harrisburg � 78, third, Vermillion � 76, fourth, Dakota Valley � 72, fifth, Alcester-Hudson � 52.

Final girls team standings were: First, Lennox � 194, second, Vermillion � 93, third, Harrisburg � 36, fourth, Dakota Valley � 30, fifth, Alcester-Hudson � 18.

Tanager boys results were: Shot put � first, Anthony Senne (43' 11"), second, Dave Jensen;
