VHS tennis team suffers loss by Jim Prosser The April 27 Yankton at Vermillion tennis match had a promising start when #1 doubles Matt Rognstad � Troy Rickord (V) defeated Conan Malady � Adam Maska 3/6, 6/1, 6/3. Unfortunately, it was a hollow promise as the remaining doubles were won by Elwood � Cary (Y) over Blouin � Merrigan 7/6(7/4), 6/3 and Matt Termansen � Jeff Meyer (Y) over Joe Eckert � Eric Schaner 6/2, 6/1.
In singles, Matt Rognstad withdrew with an injury, losing by default to Malady 7/5, D; Ryan Elwood (Y) defeated Rickord 4/6, 6/3, 6/0; Beau Blouin (V) defeated Maska 6/1, 6/1; Matt Termansen (Y) defeated Jay Merrigan 5/7, 6/3, 6/3; Joe Eckert (V) defeated Kevin Meyer 6/4, 6/0 and Dan Carey (Y) defeated Eric Schaner 7/5, 6/3.
The season dual record stood at 4-3 before a busy weekend scheduled April 30 and May 1 at Madison, and the Brookings
