Around the Town by Bonnie Sorensen The Vermillion Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all its members and volunteers for their support in 1999.
With only six months left of this wonderful century, the Chamber is busy planning some of the community's important programs.
This spring at the Chamber we organized the community Flower Power gardens on our Main Street. Thanks to our generous contributors and Flower Power volunteers, we were able to purchase and plant the Main Street flower beds. Next year, with community support, this project will grow onto Cherry Street, expanding the beautification of our city and tradition for the 21st century.
Currently the Chamber has planned a community Fourth of July celebration for Barstow Park starting Sunday, July 4 at 6 p.m. Fireworks will be held north of Hy-Vee and Pamida. We encourage everyone to come to one of Vermillion's beautiful parks with friends, families and neighbors for the final Fourth of July celebration of the 1900s. We will have games, entertainment, free goodies and fun for all ages.
