Dorcey graduates with high honors Some 1,292 new alumni were added to the roster of graduates of the University of Northern Iowa during commencement exercises held May 8, in the UNI-Dome, on the Cedar Falls campus. Two separate ceremonies were held to accommodate the numbers of graduates in a smaller atmosphere.
Christina Dorcey of Vermillion was among the graduates. She received a BA with a major in communicative disorders. She graduated with high honors.
Until last year's renovation of the UNI-Dome forced a move to smaller locations and four separate ceremonies, one joint event had been held. "We decided to hold two ceremonies in the UNI-Dome due to the positive reaction last year to a smaller atmosphere for the ceremony," said Phil Patton, UNI registrar and committee chair. "The smaller ceremonies help the audience feel more a participant in the activities of the graduation."
