Henderson named Rawlins Scholar

Henderson named Rawlins Scholar Fifteen of South Dakota's best students have been named 1999 Rawlins Scholars and will attend The University of South Dakota this fall.

Being selected a Rawlins Scholar is one of the top scholarship designations at USD.

The 1999 Rawlins Scholars include: Jacy Henderson of Vermillion; Ben Larson of Aberdeen Central; Justin Klapperich of Aberdeen Roncalli; Alisa Light of Brandon Valley; Katie Kirby of Brookings; Amber Jean Bartel of Huron; Kristy Wilson of Mitchell; Jared Dupont of Rapid City Central; Emily Neal Gunter of Rapid City Stevens; Alicia Anderson of Sioux Falls Lincoln; Jessica Brandt of Sioux Falls Roosevelt; Robert J. Sage of Sioux Falls O'Gorman; Elizabeth Hope Matchan of Sioux Falls Washington; Micah Likness of Watertown and Valerie L. Gall of Yankton.

The funds for the endowed scholarship were donated by the late Robert Rawlins and his wife Marjorie. Robert Rawlins graduated from USD in 1940 with a BS degree in physics, while Marjorie Rawlins graduated from USD in 1942 with a MFA degree in music.
