Holoch receives Wintrode Award

Holoch receives Wintrode Award Janelle Holoch, Vermillion, has been named a recipient of the Wintrode Challenge Award for the 1999-2000 school year at South Dakota State University, Brookings.

Holoch will be a freshman mass communications advertising major at SDSU this fall. The daughter of Harold and June Holoch of Vermillion, she is a graduate of Vermillion High School. During high school Holoch was active in yearbook, Art Club, Drama Club, newspaper and photography.

Wintrode Challenge Awards are given each year to four new students and one nontraditional student who show promise of academic and career success. It awards potential rather than previous academic achievement to students from South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa. The award is renewable for up to four years if at least 12 semester credits are completed and a 2.75 grade point average is maintained.
