State 4-H Horse Show held Nine Clay County 4-H members participated in the State 4-H Horse Show in Huron recently. There were approximately 700 youth involved in 29 separate horse events plus judging, demonstrations and illustrated talks related to the horse project.

Beginner Western Showmanship: Adrianne Logue � purple.
Junior Western Showmanship: Ellen Kennedy � blue; Sarah Plate � red.
Senior English Showmanship: Katie Strom � white.
Junior Stock Seat Equitation Pony: Sarah Sample � blue.
Junior Stock Seat Equitation: Ellen Kennedy � blue, Sarah Plate � blue; Karrie Plate � red.
Senior Hunt Seat Equitation: Megan Griffith � blue, Katie Strom � blue.
Junior Hunt Seat Equitation: Sarah Plate � red.
Junior Western Riding: Ellen Kennedy � white.
Senior Trail Class: Katie Strom � blue.
Junior Reining: Karrie Plate � blue.
Senior Reining: Laura Brunick � white.
Pony Barrel Racing: Sarah Ample � red.
Senior Barrel Racing: Megan Griffith � blue; Laura Brunick � blue.
Junior Pole Bending: Karrie Plate � blue.
Senior Pole Bending: Laura Brunick � red.
Illustrated Talks were presented by JoAnna Strom with a blue ribbon awarded for her talk, "A Coat of Many Colors." Katie Strom presented a talk titled "Did You Know Horses Get Stomach Aches?" and received a purple ribbon for her effort.
In the judging activity, Adrianne Logue earned a blue ribbon in the beginner division, JoAnna Strom received a blue ribbon in the junior division and Katie Strom received a blue ribbon in the seniors division. Each participated as individuals rather than as a team.
