Alpha Pi reps attend conference

Alpha Pi reps attend conference Brenda Martens, state president, and Mary Geffre Johnson, state historian, of Alpha Pi State, the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, attended the Northwest Regional Conference in Anchorage, AK, at the Egan Convention Center July 28-31.

�Working Together ? The Power to Change Lives� set the theme for the conference. Jacklynn Cuppy, Northwest Regional director, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, was in charge of arrangements with Sandra McGowan and Kati Rogness, general co-chairman of the conference.

Martens attended the two-day leadership development pre-conference meetings for state presidents. Tours, committee reports, leadership seminars and society workshops were held. Martens and Johnson acted as recorders for various workshops.

Participants registered in the 16-state area of 388 along with Darlene Telkamp, Spearfish, Rosella Beaumont, Rapid City, Shirley Pullman and Elizabeth Wood, Sioux Falls.

The highlight of the conference was the banquet address by President Evelyn Barron of Mississippi.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada will host the international convention July 25-29, 2000.
