Mongeon completes SEARCH program Darian Mongeon, second-year physician assistant student at The University of South Dakota School of Medicine, has completed a Student Experiences And Rotations in Community Health (SEARCH) Program placement at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Viborg. This is a National Health Service Corps program which is administered through the Dakota Association of Community Health Centers, Inc., the state primary care association for the Dakotas.
During the placement, he completed a community-based health project and gained clinical skills with various providers. Through the SEARCH experience, the students observe all aspects of health care delivery, from administration to finance to the provider's role in the community. The placement was supervised by Grace Tidball at Pioneer Memorial Hospital.
Darin also has a bachelor of science degree in medical technology. After training, he will practice in neurosurgery in Lincoln, NE. He and his wife Paige reside in Lincoln. He is originally from Vermillion and is the son of Ronald and Nancy Mongeon.
