Coordinator Mary Geffre Johnson encourages Vermillion residents to join the event which starts at Jolley School with registration at 12:30 p.m. The ride to Burbank will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Participants ask sponsors to make a donation based on each mile completed. All participants turning in money will receive a certificate. Those who raise $35 or more will also receive a special St. Jude t-shirt. When $75 or more is raised, the participant receives a sports bag, too.
A bike will be the featured prize along with bonds and other merchandise donated by Vermillion businesses.
The real prize, however, is the pride everyone can take in giving children a chance to live a normal life, Johnson said.
St. Jude Hospital was founded by Danny Thomas and operates primarily from public support. The bike ride will be in memory of all children who have been afflicted with cancer this past year.
Information will be available in the schools and public library. Contact Johnson at 624-3747 for more details on participating or becoming a sponsor.
