Eagles help Johnson family battle cancer Vermillion, South Dakota Eagles Aeri and Auxiliary #2421 have helped a young boy fight the biggest fight of his life.
Eight-year-old Dexter Johnson was diagnosed with ependymoma, which is a form of brain cancer.
Dexter underwent two brain surgeries in early May, and then began daily radiation treatments from June 2 to July 19.
Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary #2421 named June Dexter Johnson month. All month there were special bingo games, raffles, bingo night kitchens, and a breakfast benefit. Dexter and his family were presented a check for $2,656.55 to help with his expenses.
