Sioux Valley Vermillion Care Center planning open house Sioux Valley Vermillion Campus is celebrating the completion of the final phase of its building project with an open house of the care center at 125 Walker Street.
Residents of the Care Center moved in October of 1998 and February of 1999 when the final phase of the building project was completed.
An open house will be held Thursday, Sept. 16, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. with the program beginning at 5:30 p.m. Larry Veitz, chief executive officer, will preside over the ceremonies.
The 66-bed nursing facility has 47 newly constructed rooms and 18 remodeled rooms and has provided long term nursing care needs since it was originally built in 1964.
The new facility construction and remodeling provides for more private and spacious rooms, in-room showers, a chapel, a quieter environment offering more areas for residents and families to meet in private, smaller group activities, decentralized nursing stations and a 23-bed dementia unit.
The care center is also directly connected to Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital and Clinic and all rehabilitative therapy departments.
