USD grad winner of Sioux Falls marathon Chad Feeldy, a bio-business graduate of USD in May 1999, was declared the official winner of the Sioux Falls Half-Marathon on Sunday, Sept. 13.
Feeldy battled Rod DeHaven, a former South Dakota State standout and a known name in America's marathon regime. DeHaven was paid an appearance fee to run, thus making him ineligible to win prize money. He finished ahead of Feeldy with a time of 1:09:26. Feeldy finished 39 seconds behind DeHaven with a time of 1:10:05, breaking the course record by almost four minutes and was declared the official winner.
Feeldy was a four time All�American twice in both cross country and track. Chad helped the Coyotes to their 1997 national championship as a captain and an eleventh place finish. He also was a two time Academic All-American. Feeldy is currently training with USD's cross country team in hope of qualifying for the 2000 Olympic Trials.
