Vermillion JV loses to S. F. Roosevelt 58-39 by Jim Prosser The Vermillion JV Lady Tanagers watched a second-half lead evaporate and lost to the Sioux Falls Roosevelt Rough Riders 58-39 in girls basketball Aug. 24 at Sioux Falls.
VHS had led by two at halftime.
This was the Vermillion Tanager JV�s season-opening game. The season-opening loss gave VHS a record of 0-1 while Roosevelt moved to 1-0.
The Lady Tanagers fell behind 19-13 at the end of the first period, led 24-22 at halftime, and then trailed 38-30 going into the fourth quarter.
VHS connected on 15 of 20 free throw tries while the Rough Riders hit 12 of 20 free throw tries.
