VHS cross country competes at Mitchell By Jim Prosser Fifteen schools were represented at the Mitchell Invitational meet, held Saturday, Sept. 11 with competition in both varsity boys and girls divisions.
The first runner across the finish line was R.C. Steven�s Erik Grumstrump (15:31), while Vermillion�s Eric Dehner placed 17th, Jordan Thompson, 31st, John Ring, 43rd, Tyler Engstrom, 75th, Shane Manning, 98th and Leland Smith, 118th.
For the girls, Jessica Fox (Watertown) (13:58) was first and Tanager placers were: Cathy Plate, 33rd, Megan Griffith, 68th, Natalie Tuetken, 81st, Beth Pier, 83rd and Emily Pier, 94th.
Vermillion will host its invitational Friday, Sept. 17.
