VHS golfers extend their winning streak By Jim Prosser The Vermillion High School Tanager Golf Team improved to three their winning streak with a victory over the Orioles at Lennox on Tuesday, Sept. 7 (162-175).
The medalist was Derrick Brown (39), followed by Rob Schaack (40). Lennox�s best score was turned in by Joe Monson (41). Remaining Vermillion scorers were: Brett Hogen � 41, Nathan Boots � 42 and Aaron Baedke � 43.
The JV scores were: Tyler Brown � 42, Bo Nelson � 44, Matt Hollingsworth � 47, Jeremi Cowman � 47 and Ryan Nelson � 49. The JV team result was a winning score of 180 � 187.
Todd Anderson led the JV-B team with 50; followed by Brad Schaack and Chris Moen at 52; Tyler Zimmerman � 59; Alex Gibsin � 64; Steve Foltz � 66; Charles Odson and Mike Deibert � 76.
Coach Kirk Hogen was happy to have the opportunity for the younger team members to compete against someone besides each other � unfortunately, the ?B� score was 188-213 for Lennox.
�Course management was important for this match since the hot, dry conditions made the ground hard and choice of club determined whether you made the green in regulation,� according to the coach.
