Faculty Women's Club preparing for fall event The University of South Dakota's Faculty Women's Club is preparing its fall event. In place of the usual brunch for club members, a family event bringing together current members and their families along with faculty newcomers and their families is planned. This year's event is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at the W.H. Over Museum. The event will begin with a potluck-picnic lunch. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring their own table-setting and service so as to make the event an environmentally friendly affair.
Afterwards museum tours will be available for those who have not yet had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the treasures of our community held at the W.H. Over Museum. The Discovery Room will be open to big and little children with lots of assistance from our high school volunteers. This year's change in location and inclusion of children and spouses is an attempt by the Faculty Women's Club to restore a sense of community and family to our club's social affairs.
We want to take our events out in the community and introduce newcomers as well as latecomers to each other in these settings. A holiday event for faculty and spouses is being planned at the Vermillion Area Arts Council building.
