Obituaries Kenneth Fischer
Kenneth Wayne Fischer, Sr., 66, of Vermillion, formerly of Lake Andes, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999 at the Sioux Valley Vermillion Care Center in Vermillion. Funeral services were held 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25, at the Lake Andes Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in St. Phillip's Episcopal Cemetery, Lake Andes. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of the arrangements.
Kenneth was born July 1, 1933 at Ravina, the son of Albert and Irene (Highrock) Fischer. He attended college at Salt Lake City, UT and also in Arizona. Kenneth served his country in the US Army for four years during the Korean War.
Kenneth married Sally Rouse. He later married Margaret Zephier and Melerine Pomani.
Kenneth was a past director for the Yankton Sioux Tribe Alcohol and Drug Program. He was a member of the VFW and the elderly board. He was a very hard working, good hearted, kind man. Kenneth was a strong believer in his pipe and the Native American Church.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Melerine of Vermillion; 14 children; four step-children; 37 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; grandfather, Eugene Highrock and two children.
